Apple and Cheese Torte
This amazing apple and cheese torte is so easy to make and delicious warm or cool.
Serve it for breakfast, brunch, lunch, tea-time, snack-time or dessert. It's great anytime!
It looks great too so serve it when company comes over.
Apples have more flavour slightly warm or at room temperature. Refrigerate leftovers after serving.
Apple and Cheese Torte
What you need

Base:
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/3 cup granulated suggar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup raspberry or apricot jam Filling:
- 1 8oz pkg cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1tsp vanilla
- 3 cups peeled, thinly sliced apples
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
Topping:
What to do
Base:Cream butter and sugar together thoroughly. Blend in flour. Press evenly onto bottom and 1 1/2" up sides of 8 1/2" springform pan. Spread jam evenly over bottom of crust.
Filling: Beat all filling ingredients together with electric mixer until smooth and light. Spread over jam.
Topping: Toss apples, sugar and cinnamon together to coat well. Spoon over filling. sprinkle with almonds.
Bake at 450F for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 400F for 25-30 minutes or until set and apples are tender.
Cool slightly then remove pan rim.
Refrigerate leftovers after serving.
After reducing heat to 400F, put aluminum paper strips around top of pan to prevent sides to burn.
