Hamburger Soup Recipe
This hamburger soup recipe is so good, you'll want to double it, eat half and freeze the rest. It's a meal in a bowl.

Hamburger Soup Recipe
What you need
- 1lb Ground Beef (I prefer lean)
- mince garlic (in a jar) as much as you want
- 2 onions chopped
- 1 cup chopped celeri
- a cup chopped carrots
- 1 can (28oz/796ml) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (14oz/398ml) kidney beans, drained
- 8 cups of water, beef or vegetable stock
- 2 cups shredded cabbage
- 1/2 cup small pasta (macaroni, penne or fusili)
- 1 can (14oz/398ml) pork and beans
- 1 tsp dried basil or Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp salt and pepper to taste
Optional: parmesan cheese to sprinkle on top
What to do
- In a large heavy saucepan, brown beef until crumbly and fully cooked
- Add garlic, onions, celery and carrots
- Cook until softened but not browned
- Add tomatoes, kidney beans and liquid
- Bring to boil
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 45 minutes
- Add cabbage, pasta, pork and beans, basil, salt and pepper to taste
- Cover and simmer additional 30 minutes or until soup is desired consistency
- If you want, sprinkle parmesan on top
